    LOCTITE 401 is an instant adhesive developed for mounting difficult-to-bond materials that require even stress distribution and high tensile and / or shear strength. The product is suitable for fast bonding of many materials, including metal, plastic and elastomer. LOCTITE 401 is also suitable for bonding porous materials such as wood, paper, leather and fabric.     Loctite started and made its name with metal adhesives. These mainly serve to lock bolts and nuts without the need for additional washers. Nowadays they are also widely used in thread sealing, gasket sealing, and cylindrical fasteners. This adhesive is an anaerobic adhesive based on methyl methacrylate.
    The metal adhesives are available in different colours: red, blue and green. Red is permanent, blue is removable, green is removable when heated slightly.
