The bonnets of many car models are not held open by a support rod that has to be tightened by hand, but by means of a gas strut. The pressure in the spring allows the bonnet to be opened and closed easily. To prevent the bonnet from closing by itself, the gas strut must be precisely adjusted to its weight and position points. Quality from conviction. The gas pressure spring consists of a piston rod and a cylinder. When the hood is closed, the piston rod pushes into the cylinder, compressing the gas. When the hood is opened again, the throttle turns off and holds the hood up.
Gas springs can only be fully functional if the gas in the cylinder does not escape. To guarantee 100% tightness, Febi gas pressure springs are intensively tested.
