    Quality from conviction. The gas pressure spring consists of a piston rod and a cylinder. When the tailgate is closed, the piston rod pushes into the cylinder, compressing the gas inside. If the lid opens, the gas turns off again, so that the boot lid remains up. Gas springs can only be fully functional if the gas in the cylinder does not escape.
