DS 3000 brake pads – Brake pads with a preference for circuits with good friction for cold street use
Ferodo DS3000 brake pads are suitable for more intensive circuit use. The DS3000 brake pads have a better friction coefficient than the DS2500 and significantly better resistance to higher temperatures. This way, the friction remains up to 650 degrees, while the DS2500 is suitable up to approximately 500 degrees, but it slowly decreases after 250 degrees.
The DS3000 provides significantly more friction as the temperature of the blocks increases. This way you can brake considerably harder above 250 degrees than with a DS2500, where the friction of the DS3000 even continues to increase up to 500 degrees.
The heat transfer to the brake calipers will also be smaller, meaning that the fluid will not heat up as quickly. This allows you to drive many more laps fast than you would normally be used to. The DS3000 provides a better pedal feeling and is therefore easier to dose than the DS2500.
The best combination for street and track:
- Still very good bite when starting off cold, which is a must for road use. Comparable to the DS2500.
- Average friction coefficient of 0.48 provides confidence and very good braking power over a very wide temperature range. This applies to almost the entire temperature range. The DS2500 switches off after 250 degrees.
- Very resistant to higher temperatures, but also causes higher wear on the brake discs.
- The special back plate reduces heat transfer between the block and the brake caliper
