    With this Simson chain tool, a bicycle chain can be shortened or repaired by partially pushing the pin of a chain link outwards. Remove the redundant links with the chain tool. A tip here is not to push the pin completely out of the link, because it is very difficult to put it back. Place the chain over the sprockets and connect the ends of the chain together with a Simson connecting link.
