Eccentric or rotary car polisher

At Winparts you will find two types of polishing machines. Namely, the eccentric rotary polisher and the rotary polisher. The most commonly used machine is the eccentric polisher. This machine is also called the DAP (Dual Action Polishing Machine). With the eccentric polisher, scratches, swirls and dull spots can be removed. An eccentric polisher is very safe to use because it does not get too hot during rotation. This prevents the car paint from burning. The eccentric machine is suitable for any car paint and when using it, no mistakes can actually be made.

The rotary polisher has a head that only rotates. A rotating machine can become very hot due to constant rotation. The advantage of this is that the rotary machine can remove much deeper scratches from the car paint than an eccentric polisher. The disadvantage of this heat is that it can burn the car paint. If the car has a thin layer of paint on certain surfaces, this can result in you polishing through the paint. We therefore recommend that you only use the rotary polisher if you have experience polishing cars.

Polishing the car with a polisher is not a difficult job. Plus, you can get great results with it when done right. When polishing the car, you can observe the following steps:

1. Clean the car well with a car shampoo. It is important that the car is clean before polishing the paint.

2. Clay the car with an auto clay bar to remove all the stubborn dirt.

3. Use a hard polishing pad for machine polishing and attach it to the polisher with some polishing compound.

4. Run the polisher at a slow speed and spread the polish over the surface.

5. When the polish is dispersed, the machine can be accelerated to a higher speed and you can apply a little more force to remove the scratches. Move the machine a number of times in a smooth movement from top to bottom and from left to right.

6. Remove the polisher from the car and remove the polish residue from the car with a microfibre cloth.

7. Apply wax with a new soft wax pad. You can do this by hand as well as by machine. By applying a layer of wax, the paint gets an extra protective layer and it stays beautiful for longer.
