Looking for a air conditioning evaporator?

Air conditioning evaporator defective

A faulty air conditioning evaporator can be very annoying and must therefore be solved as soon as possible. When the evaporator is broken, you can notice a number of symptoms. A first symptom is a lot of moisture in the interior. For example, you may notice that the windows fog up faster. Another symptom is that the air from the fans is no longer properly cold, or you can no longer control the temperature. A final symptom that you may notice is foul or weird odors from the fans.

It can sometimes happen that the air conditioning evaporator freezes. There is a lot of moisture in this part, which means that it can sometimes freeze at cold temperatures. With a frozen evaporator, the cold air can no longer be blown into the interior. Often this problem is due to a full water drain.

Cleaning air conditioning evaporator

A defective air conditioning evaporator is often caused by corrosion or dirt in the air conditioning system. It is therefore recommended to clean the air conditioning evaporator annually. This also applies to the other components in the air conditioning system. In addition, it is important to replace the pollen filter annually to prevent contamination of the air conditioning.

Replace air conditioning evaporator

Replacing an air conditioning evaporator is a job that you need to schedule some time for. The evaporator is located behind the dashboard. Often the entire dashboard will have to be removed to replace the evaporator. In addition, the air conditioning will have to be emptied, cleaned and refilled to complete the job. Would you rather leave this to the garage? Then quite a few costs can be incurred because it is a labour-intensive job. In this case, you can choose to purchase the parts cheaply from Winparts.
