Car radiator fan broken

When the car's radiator fan breaks, the engine can overheat. The radiator will no longer be cooled. This can cause serious wear on the engine parts or even break the engine. Engine overheating is indicated by a light in the dashboard. You can recognize a broken fan by reduced power when driving at a higher speed. In addition, the air conditioning will no longer get cold or not work at all. If the radiator fan fails, replace it as soon as possible. This prevents further damage to the car.

Replace car radiator fan

You can replace the radiator fan yourself with a little technical insight. You can see where the radiator fan is located in your vehicle manual. Once you have found the radiator fan, you can start replacing it.

1. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. This prevents short circuits during the mounting of the radiator fan.

2. Then the parts that are in the way of the radiator fan can be removed. This way you can easily get to the part. Think, for example, of the engine protection plate.

3. You can then disconnect the fan from the battery and loosen the screws.

Now remove the fan and replace it with the new one.

Radiator fan

The radiator fan of the car has an important job, which is to cool the engine. The fan is activated when the engine temperature gauge rises above a certain point. The fan then turns and together with the radiator ensures that the engine cools down. With its function, the fan is an important part of the car. If it no longer works (properly), the engine will not be cooled sufficiently and you run the risk of overheating the engine. Therefore, make sure that you replace the radiator fan in time.
