Looking for a viscous coupling? Order here

Viscous coupling defective

When the viscous coupling is defective, you can notice this by the temperature of the engine. In the event of a defect, the coupling can no longer ensure that sufficient cooling wind is supplied. This is noticeable when driving at low speeds or in traffic jams. When you drive in a traffic jam, there will not be enough wind to cool the engine and the radiator fan must be switched on. As soon as the viscous coupling is broken, the fan will not be switched on and the engine temperature can rise. A message is often given in the on-board computer or can be read on the temperature gauge.

Is the viscous coupling broken? Make sure it is replaced as soon as possible. Failure to provide the engine with proper cooling can cause the engine to overheat and eventually cause serious engine damage.

Replace viscous coupling

You can replace the viscous coupling yourself, provided you have the correct technical knowledge. Replacing the viscous coupling also involves disassembling and reconnecting parts of the cooling system. It is very important that everything is back in its proper place and that the cooling system is working properly. Would you rather leave the job to the garage? Then make sure that you purchase the coupling at an affordable price from Winparts and deliver it to the garage yourself. If you supply the parts yourself, you often save a lot of money.

Buy viscous coupling

Buying a viscous coupling is done quickly and easily at Winparts. Enter the number plate or car model on the website and the correct parts will be displayed. Are you looking for other parts for the cooling system? At Winparts you will also find water pumps, thermostats, oil coolers, intercoolers and fuel coolers.

Viscous coupling

The viscous coupling is part of the car's cooling system and is located near the radiator fan and radiator. The viscous coupling ensures the switching on and off of the radiator fan. The radiator fan ensures that the engine parts are cooled as soon as they reach a certain temperature. Is the viscous coupling broken? This can result in overheating of the engine due to the radiator fan not turning on properly. In this case, make sure to avoid engine damage and replace this part as soon as possible. Enter the number plate or car model on the website to find out which parts are suitable for your vehicle.
