The engine block of the car is attached to the chassis with engine stands. Most cars have 3 engine stands, two on the side and one on the back. The job of the engine stands is to absorb shock movements and vibrations from the engine block or outside. For example, when you start, accelerate or brake the car, the engine will start to move. That is why most supports are made of metal with strong rubbers in it. The rubber part ensures that vibrations and shocks are well absorbed. Engine stand broken symptoms

As just described, the engine stands absorb vibrations and jolts during starting and driving. The supports are therefore heavily loaded every ride, which can cause them to malfunction. Usually, faulty engine stands cause a number of symptoms. One of the most common symptoms is impact noises coming from the engine compartment. These noises are caused by the engine not being properly seated in the engine stands. Another symptom is that vibrations arise, because the engine stands will absorb the shock movements of the engine less well. Also, a moving engine in the engine compartment can indicate broken or failing engine stands. You will especially feel this motor movement when accelerating or braking. The motor will then jerk forwards, backwards, left or right. Properly working engine stands will normally stop this.
