These noises are caused by the engine not being properly seated in the engine stands. Another symptom is that vibrations arise, because the engine stands will absorb the shock movements of the engine less well. Also, a moving engine in the engine compartment can indicate broken or failing engine stands. You will especially feel this motor movement when accelerating or braking. The motor will then jerk forwards, backwards, left or right. Properly working engine stands will normally stop this.
