    Loctite Silicone Sealant Black SI 5980 100ml

    Loctite SI 5980 is a black, alkoxy-silicone surface sealant, ideal for surface sealing applications where good resistance to oil and joint movement is required: typically for sheet metal covers (distribution covers and oil sumps). Loctite SI 5980 cures under the influence of humidity, forming a rigid rubber gasket. Its thixotropic nature makes it easy to apply and reduces sealant migration after application. It withstands low-pressure testing in the production line immediately after flange assembly.

    Loctite is an American manufacturer of adhesives founded in 1953. The main adhesives produced are metal adhesives. In 1997 the company was taken over by Henkel, during the takeover Loctite has continued to be used as the brand name.
    Loctite started and made its name with metal adhesives. These mainly serve to lock bolts and nuts without the need for additional washers. Nowadays they are also widely used in thread sealing, gasket sealing, and cylindrical fasteners. This adhesive is an anaerobic adhesive based on methyl methacrylate.
    The metal adhesives are available in different colours: red, blue and green. Red is permanent, blue is removable, green is removable when heated slightly.
