TIP: Always hold the halogen lamp by the socket and never by the glass. Greasy fingerprints can burn in and leave a black residue on the glass. This reduces the lamp's light output and shortens its lifespan. When replacing the lamp, use a cloth in case you can only install the lamp by holding it by the glass.
