Pressure sensor (intake manifold/exhaust)

Each car is equipped with two pressure sensors, an intake pressure sensor and an exhaust pressure sensor.

An intake pressure sensor measures the air pressure in cars with a turbo. On the basis of this measurement, the fuel injection and the ignition moment are determined, among other things. The air pressure is not the same at every speed. In addition, the shape and position of the exhaust, intake and camshaft also affect the amount of air entering the engine. So it is very important that this is measured properly so that the engine can perform correctly.

The outlet pressure sensor is also known as the differential pressure sensor. This device measures the air pressure in the exhaust and can use this measurement to determine whether the particle filter or particle filter is getting clogged. When a particle filter becomes clogged, this can lead to increased fuel consumption. In addition, the car may lose power. When this is measured by the pressure sensor, the particle filter will regenerate. This means that the particle filter is cleaned and the particulates are burned so that the filter is clean again. The pressure sensor is therefore a small but important part of the car.

Pressure sensor car broken

When the pressure sensor of the turbo is broken, you can notice this by increased fuel consumption, reduced power and less ability to accelerate. In addition, you may notice that the engine no longer idles properly. If you notice the symptoms, be sure to replace the pressure sensor as soon as possible.

When the exhaust pressure sensor is broken, it is important to replace it. If you do not do this, the particle filter may become clogged because the air pressure is no longer measured properly. This can ensure that the particle filter no longer regenerates and thus becomes clogged. This will eventually cause more fuel to be consumed and the car to lose power or stutter.

Replace pressure sensor

When the pressure sensor no longer works properly, it will have to be replaced. In the first instance, it is important to see whether there is a problem with the pressure sensor or whether the particle filter or turbo may need to be replaced. The pressure sensor is in most cases difficult to replace, because the device is often difficult to reach. Of course, this also depends on the type of car. Do you leave the job to the garage? Then make sure that you buy the pressure sensor cheaply from Winparts and deliver it to the garage yourself. This often saves a lot of costs.

Pressure sensor (intake manifold/exhaust)

The car has both a pressure sensor for the intake and for the exhaust. The intake pressure sensor measures how much air is being transported to the engine. The fuel injection and ignition timing of the engine depend on this, for example, so that it can perform as well as possible. The exhaust pressure sensor measures the amount of air pressure in the exhaust, from which it can be concluded whether the particle filter is clogged. Is a pressure sensor in your car broken? Then it must be replaced. Enter the number plate or car model on the website, the correct sensors will then be displayed.
