Intake air temperature sensor

An intake air temperature sensor or air inlet temperature sensor is located in the air filter housing. The air needed for combustion in the engine flows in here. The intake temperature sensor measures the incoming air and transmits the information to the computer (ECU) of the car. As the computer receives all the information, efficient combustion will occur and the engine will run optimally. When the air intake temperature sensor is faulty, combustion will no longer be efficient and the engine will run poorly. However, it can be difficult to determine if the problem is with the air intake sensor. In most cases it is therefore necessary to read it out.

Exhaust gas temperature sensor

The EGR temperature sensor or exhaust gas temperature sensor measures the temperature in the catalytic converter or the particulate filter. The sensor then passes this information on to the engine control unit. The engine needs this information in order to efficiently control the composition of the mixture or the regeneration of the diesel particulate filter in order to reduce the level of toxic emissions. A defective EGR temperature sensor ensures a longer regeneration of the particulate filter.
